Welcome to the Flotilla 5-7, District 8CR Web Site

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed, all-volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard. The Auxiliary was created by an Act of Congress in 1939, and has grown to over 25,000 members who support the Coast Guard daily in all its non-military, and non-law-enforcement missions. We have members and units in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Guam.

Flotillas are the local units of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, providing service to their communities. Flotilla 5-7's area of responsibility includes Belton Lake, Stillhouse Hollow Lake, and the surrounding Central Texas area including Fort Hood. Our primary activities include providing boater safety training (including a special focus on serving our military based at Fort Hood), providing public awareness of boater safety by participating in area events such as boat shows and festivals, conducting free vessel safety examinations, and conducting regular safety patrols on both Stillhouse Hollow Lake and Belton Lake. We would love to have your help - see the "Join Flotilla 5-7" link to the left.

The Coast Guard considers the Auxiliary its primary resource for recreational boating safety outreach and prevention (see this message "From the Commandant”). In most inland portions of the country (such as on our Central Texas lakes), the Auxiliary is the sole Coast Guard presence!

Our flotilla meetings are normally held at 1:00 PM on the second Saturday of each month at the restaurant in the Stillhouse Hollow Marina, however, occasionally the date or location changes to accommodate events - visitors are always welcome but please check the calendar or contact us before attending in case we’ve changed the venue.
